THE CREDIT CRISIS: What does it mean for you?
Fairfield County Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals to host presentation on September 9

WESTPORT, CT, Aug. 4, 2008 — On September 9 the Fairfield County Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals will host a free workshop on dealing with the current credit crisis. Presenter Patrick Begos, Esq. is a member of the Fairfield County Chapter. During his presentation he will help participants understand the answers to questions such as:

  • How has the mortgage crisis spread to those using credit generally?
  • How did mortgage banks "break" the mortgage system and what does it mean to your clients?
  • What are the warning signs that you may have existing or future credit problems?
  • What can you do about your credit problems?

The workshop, which is open to both the public and financial professionals, will be held in the Westport Library's McManus Meeting Room from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The library is located at 20 Jesup Rd, Westport. The morning will include a presentation and questions and answers from both Atty. Begos and Joseph L.A. Tesoriere, a founder and the president of Omni Solo, a consulting firm that specializing in restructuring consumer and business debt.

Atty. Begos is a founding partner of the Westport law firm of Begos Horgan & Brown, LLP. He works primarily on cases involving business and personal disputes in a wide variety of commercial areas including secured lending; real estate transactions; bankruptcy; and corporate governance. He has prosecuted predatory lending disputes and represented both borrowers and lenders in mortgage foreclosures for the past 20 years.

"The credit crisis is not just about sub-prime borrowers," points out Begos. "It has spread to all types of credit, and all types of borrowers, including those in Fairfield County. Everyone today depends on some form of credit, at least some of the time. Today, everyone needs to understand how the credit crisis may affect them."

No pre-registration is necessary and admission is free. Those attending will need to use the parking lot by the Levitt Pavilion (in the back) and enter from the library's main entrance on the second floor.
